Description
In a day when evil men and impostors go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (II Timothy 3:13), GOD's people should be moved to a deeper consecration and reverence in their daily conduct (II Peter 3:11). The more wicked the hour, the holier should be the aspirations and conduct of the Christian. Many years ago an old Puritan preacher wrote: "To keep in a spirit of holiness in an adulterous generation is a Christian honor." Such is the call of GOD in these troublous times. The letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor take on new force as we listen to the Son of Man speaking through them to the church of the present day. The fact that what our Lord said comprises nearly one-eighth of the Book of the Revelation serves to emphasize the importance GOD places on these encouragements and warnings. The materials appearing in these chapters were gathered from messages given over the special network of the Back to the Bible Broadcast. - John I. Paton Literature Editor
